Your privacy, and the fine print.
1. Your statements stay on your device by default
When you use the standard on-device tool, your statements (CSV, PDF, or photo) are read, categorized, and matched to cards entirely inside your web browser, using code running on your own computer or phone. Unless you explicitly choose one of the optional AI tools below, the contents of your statements are not sent to our servers, not stored by us, and not shared with anyone. The default tool still works if you turn off your internet after the page loads. We never ask for a bank login, account numbers, or your Social Security number.
Three optional exceptions, and only if you click the button yourself:
- "Let AI sort these for me" (merchant names only). This sends only the merchant names we already found (for example, "BULLFROG WINE SPIRITS") for one smarter categorization pass. It never sends amounts, dates, your name, or your account number. The names are used once to answer and are not stored.
- "Read these files with AI" (when one or more files would not open on your device). When our on-device reader cannot open one or more statements, you may choose to send up to 12 prepared page images from each unclear file included in that recovery choice, once, over an encrypted connection. The page images can contain anything visible on those statement pages, including your name, mailing address, account details, transactions, or other printed information. Anthropic processes the images once through its Claude API to return the transaction result. DailyCardWatch does not store the page images. We send only pages prepared from the unclear files included in that recovery choice, never the clear files in the rest of your upload.
- "Ask DailyCardWatch" (public card names and your typed question only when live research is needed). From a finished report, DailyCardWatch first checks reviewed card information and general card-and-topic research completed during the previous 24 hours. That first check does not send your question to Anthropic. If live research is needed and you click Check official sources, Anthropic receives only the public card names shown in the dropdowns and the question you typed. If you later click Check public cardholder reports, the same limited information is sent for that separate optional search of publicly accessible social sites, forums, and app reviews. DailyCardWatch does not automatically add your statements, transactions, merchant names, spending totals, preferences, dollar result, or identity information. DailyCardWatch does not store your typed question or a personalized answer. To reduce repeat lookup costs, it may store and reuse for up to 24 hours a standardized card-and-topic answer produced from fixed wording that does not contain your wording. Do not type a person's name, phone number, street address, birth date, account number, card number, Social Security number, or email address.
All three are strictly opt-in. If you never click an AI button, nothing is sent to Anthropic. Clicking Ask DailyCardWatch never sends statement data. Because selected statement page images are not redacted before AI recovery, review the file first and use CSV/QFX, manual entry, or the ignore option if it contains anything you do not want sent to Anthropic. We never ask you to enter a bank login, full card number, or Social Security number.
2. No visitor analytics
DailyCardWatch does not run a visitor counter, create a visitor identifier, save the pages you view, or email the owner information about site visits. We do not use advertising trackers, sell or rent your data, or build advertising profiles.
Cloudflare hosts, delivers, and protects the website. Like any internet hosting provider, it processes routine network information needed to serve and secure requests. DailyCardWatch does not use that routine service data to identify people, build browsing profiles, or send visitor-count emails.
3. Optional feedback email
Personalized card-alert signup is not currently offered. If you use the feedback box, you may leave an email address only if you want a reply. The address and your message are used to read and respond to that feedback. Do not include card numbers, bank logins, Social Security numbers, or statement contents in a feedback message.
4. What we never do
- We are independent and never paid by any card issuer to include, rank, or recommend a card.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We never require or ask for a bank login, full card number, or Social Security number.
5. Terms of use
For information, not advice. DailyCardWatch is an educational comparison tool. The card rewards, fees, bonuses, and dollar figures it shows are estimates for comparison, based on publicly known offers, and may be out of date or wrong. They are not financial advice and not a guarantee. Always confirm a card's current terms on the issuer's own website before you apply.
Not a financial advisor or credit service. We are not a licensed financial advisor, a bank, a budgeting app, or a credit-approval or credit-repair service. Decisions about which cards to get or how to manage credit are yours.
No guarantee. The tool is provided "as is." We work to keep card data accurate but cannot promise it is complete or error-free, and we are not liable for decisions made based on it. Approval, rewards, and terms are set by the card issuers, not by us.
Card names are the property of their respective issuers, used here for identification and comparison only. Any personas or figures in sample reports are illustrative examples, not real customers.
